A Day at the Beach

Today we decided to head for the beach. I called the nurses and checked in on Hannah and they encouraged me to go and take a little break. The picture of Hannah is from yesterday - I had to get a picture of her wearing my favorite color, yellow!

So, we packed up and used our 2'x 3' map (very akward in the car!) and found our way down to Atlantic Beach. We had nice sunny weather and the boys had a great time playing in the sand. Timothy and Adam jumped waves and played around in the water but Luke and I decided it was too cold. Luke enjoyed smashing sand castles and trying to lick the sand. That boy is a piece of work!! The drive took about 2 1/2 hours and neither boy slept much. We were very thankful (again) for the built-in DVD player in our van. :) Adam and I pretty much have Finding Nemo memorized - we just watch it over and over. Thanks Auntie Em!

I went back to the hospital after we got to the hotel to feed Hannah. She ate very well and quickly. The nurse was happy to see how well it went. Then Hannah decided to stay awake for a while so I got to talk and sing to her while she watched me. It was so great! I came back to the room to find all 3 of my boys asleep on the bed together.

For those of you who are wondering about a discharge date, here's the latest. Hannah has to go 5-7 days without having a drop in her oxygen level (the whole suck swallow breathe thing). The Dr talked to me and told me that she wouldn't be getting out of the hospital by Tuesday morning. So, please pray that we can figure out the best travel plans for all of us and work schedule for Adam. Thanks so much!

These updates are so neat. Thank you for doing them each day! Hannah and the boys are just beautiful. I will be praying with you - asking the Lord to help Hannah continue developing her breathing and sucking skills and of course to guide your travel plans. Blessings to you this evening!

She is just so beautiful!
Adam - do the animal rights people know about your abuse to the poor dolphin you were laying on? It looks like you are all enjoying your time! I have to admit - reading your updates and seeing your pictures brings the "bug" on BIG TIME!
Happy Mother's Day Andrea!

Andrea and Adam,

Just happened upon your page by accident and I enjoyed reading through your updates on Hannah. Great name, by the way. Hope everything is going well with the adoption.

God bless,
